A
new trend is becoming increasingly clear in the corporate world—women entrepreneurs are stepping into leadership roles at a remarkable pace. In recent years, women’s participation in startups, e-commerce, technology, and service sectors has grown significantly, both in Bangladesh and globally.
Research shows that in Bangladesh, nearly 35% of newly registered businesses over the past five years were founded or led by women. Their presence in the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector has almost doubled during this period.
Experts attribute this rise to greater access to education, technology, and support from both government and private initiatives. However, some caution that if male entrepreneurs fail to adapt to the rapidly changing business landscape, they may risk falling behind.
Corporate analysts note that women-led companies are not only adding diversity to the workplace but also contributing positively to business growth. Studies suggest that such companies enjoy higher employee retention and greater customer satisfaction compared to their peers.
The message is clear: the future of competition in the corporate world will be shaped by skills, innovation, and leadership qualities—not by gender differences.
