angladesh’s gold market has witnessed another sharp surge in prices. The rise in international gold rates and fluctuations in the US dollar have directly impacted the domestic market, affecting jewelry shops and ordinary buyers alike.
According to the Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association, today, Sunday (September 7), the price of 22-carat gold reached Tk 15,332 per bhori. Experts say that global market instability and emerging investment trends have driven gold prices to this level.
Economists believe that the rising gold price may increase people’s inclination to invest in gold, but the high cost poses challenges for regular buyers.
Economist Dr. Faruk Ahmed commented, “Such a sharp rise in gold prices is unusual, but global market forces have made it inevitable. Ordinary buyers need to remain cautious.”
