T
he prices of rice, lentils, and cooking oil in Bangladesh have reached extreme levels today. Rising international commodity prices, limited domestic production, and supply instability are being cited as the main reasons.
Market analysts warn that consumers need to be more cautious while purchasing daily food items. The price hike is particularly burdensome for lower- and middle-income households.

Economist Dr. Saiful Islam said, “Price increases in staple goods like rice directly affect the daily lives of ordinary people. Market monitoring needs to be intensified.”
